Einbürgerungstest: the 300 questions, plus 10 for your Bundesland
The official question catalogue has 300 federal questions plus 10 questions for each Bundesland, 460 in total. For you, 310 count: the 300 federal questions plus the 10 for the Bundesland where you take the test.
In the exam you get 33 of these questions and have 60 minutes. 17 correct answers are enough to pass.
What is in the catalogue
The questions cover politics and democracy, history, society and basic rights, plus 10 about your Bundesland, such as its coat of arms, state parliament (Landtag) or state capital. All questions are multiple choice.
300 sounds like a lot. But the questions repeat themes, and many become easy after a little practice. This is not about memorising 460 lines. It is about understanding the questions.
How your test is put together
Your test is drawn from the catalogue: federal questions plus questions about your Bundesland. You do not know in advance which 33 you will get, so it is best to practise the whole catalogue, not a shortlist.
With Klartest, each new practice test gives more weight to the categories where you make mistakes. So you spend your time on the questions you cannot answer confidently yet, not the ones you already know.
All 460 questions, each one explained
Klartest has the complete official catalogue: 300 federal questions and 10 questions for each of the 16 Bundesländer. Every question is explained in your language: what it asks, why the answer is correct and which words matter.
